DAY 5 – Behind the Wall

‘Thank you for coming. It gives us joy to know that we are not alone!’

It is very humbling to hear these words over and over again from so many people we meet.

Visiting an amazing women’s-led project offering a Cooking Class we were able to make Maqlaba  (meaning ‘upside) We were made so welcome. The women’s empowerment group  in Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem have started a therapy centre to take care of their disabled children providing education and employment. Through the Cooking Classes they share what it is like to live in the Camp beside the wall where they and their children experience segregation and tear gas nearly every day.
